PROPS, propellers
HYDROMOTIVE
PROPELLERS
The
Sport is designed specifically for the more heavily loaded bass and
pleasure V-6 outboards in the 18’ to 20’ range. Fast, clean-running
hulls, such as the Allison and the Bullet, are examples of the hull
type best suited for this prop. This propeller has a great hole-shot,
good mid-range and very good top-end. Tunnel hulls will also benefit
from the T-3X Sport, three blade stainless steel propellers. These propellers
will initially be available in 14 1/2" diameter and pitches from
22" through 34" in every 1" of pitch. The counter-rotating
version has not yet been developed. All propellers are furnished with
the square bore design as standard. Blueprinting/ lab finishing is available
at an extra charge but it will void the one year warranty.
This version of the T-3X three blade stainless steel propeller is designed
with less blade area for more lightly loaded applications. Fast, clean-running
hulls in the 18’ to 21’ range with light loads will find
unmatched acceleration, superb handling, minimal steering torque and
outstanding top-end with the T-3X Comp. Many times, high-speed light-weight
outboard hulls have excessive steering torque and are a handful to drive.
With the T-3X Comp you will enter a new era of unparalleled handling
without elbow-wrenching steering torque. The Comp model is available
in pitch ranges from 22" through 34" in 2" increments.
The 14 1/4" diameter Comp model is precision balanced, polished
and heat-treated. All propellers are furnished with the square bore
design as standard. Blueprinting/ lab finishing is available at an extra
charge but it will void the one year warranty.
A specially prepped and lab finished drag version of
our T-3X Comp/Sport, three blade stainless steel propellers for 1/8
and 1/4 mile drag competition. Available in pitches ranging from 22”
- 26” in 2” increments.
Furnished with square bore design as standard. Race prep and lab
finish is also standard.
Do you remember the first time you tried driving that brand new 20 ft.
pad bottom boat with the 200 hp V-6 outboard? What a handful! In fact,
most of us would say that the first few outings were a disaster. Most of
us eventually learned how to counter steer and keep the boat up on the
pad at 90 mph, while holding our breath. Some of us never got it right!
The T-4X, four blade stainless steel propeller will tame the tiger right
out of that pad bottom boat. If you are looking for a prop that will
allow anybody to drive your boat with success, you have found it.
Steering torque is almost nonexistent, and handling at a wide-open
throttle is a dream come true. Water conditions that would rattle your
cage with a 3-blade will be a cake walk for the T-4X. This prop will
deliver excellent hole-shot, stellar mid-range acceleration and good
top-end performance. Most of us would rather maintain 90 mph over
everyday water conditions than hold our breath trying for 92 mph on
rare, glass-calm water. The T-4X is available in 13 3/4 " diameter and
pitches ranging from 22" through 34" in 2" increments. Initially, only
right-handed rotation will be available, with counter-rotation to
follow. As with all of our propellers, heat-treatment, precision balance
and polishing are standard. All propellers are furnished with the square
bore design as standard. Blueprinting/ lab finishing is available at an
extra charge but it will void
the one year warranty.
Bass boats, rib boats, offshore sport fishing
boats, and many other outboards applications using newer 3.0
liter and larger outboards will love the Quad IV X O/B SST, four
blade stainless steel hi-performance propeller.
With 15” diameter and dual PVS Vent Holes, this hybrid will
provide awesome lift and load carrying ability. Excellent top
end speed without sacrificing hole shot is the trademark of the
SST. This propeller provides great boat attitude and handling in
rough water. Available in pitches from 19-34” in one inch
increments. The square bore design is standard, and will accept
all the Mercury hub insert kits. Counter rotation is available
in all pitch sizes. Precision balancing, heat treatment, and
polishing are standard.
APPLICATION INFORMATION FOR QUAD IV X O/B
SST PROPELLERS
Due to the many configurations of Bass Boat manufacturers,
engine size, mounting height off the transom, and gear case
style, we find it necessary to custom tune the QUAD IV X O/B SST
propellers to these various groups of boats. We would like to
summarize three basic categories to help you order the correct
prop for your application. In all instances the props will come
standard with Dual PVS Vent Holes, modified flare rings, and lab
finishing. It is the cup configuration that will vary boat to
boat.
Group A) Light weight, pad bottom, hi speed bass boats using low
water pick up gear cases such as the Mercury SportMaster. In
these applications the gear case is run very high out of the
water. Generally, until water pressure drops to 10-12 psi or
prop slip occurs. On these boats the motor height is even to
around 1 1/2” to 1 3/4” above the pad using the Mercury SportMaster case. For these boats we recommend the prop have
extra heavy, tight crimp cup at the trailing edges and around
the tips.
Group B) Same style boats as above, but using the standard
Mercury TorqueMaster gear case, without a low water pick up or a
nose cone. In these instances the motor height is less; around
even to 1/2” above the pad. Again watching that water pressure
remains at 10-12 psi, and prop slip does not occur. For these
applications we recommend extra cup at trailing edges and around
the tips, but about half the cup height as Group A.
Group C) Heavier Bass Boats that are not hi speed in design.
Here Generally, these boats have lower motor heights and
standard Mercury TorqueMasters. As a rule these applications
require more bow lift. Here we use extra cupping around the tips
only and leave the trailing edges with standard cup.
As one might expect, there are many applications in between the
above three groups. We suggest you test all three prop styles to
determine which is best suited, using the above as your guide.
The same principals as above apply to other motor manufacture’s
gear cases as well. Best of luck!
The Intimidator Quad IV O/T four blade stainless steel propeller is the
prop of choice on both single and twin-engine open sport fishing boats,
all bass boats with natural bow lift and limited single-engine stern
drives. We are having outstanding results in boats such as Allisons and
Bullets with both light and tournament loads. Heat-treated, the O/T is
14 3/4 " in diameter and manufactured in every inch from 19" through 32"
pitch. Counter-rotation is offered in all the above sizes. All
propellers are furnished with the square bore design as standard.
Blueprinting/ lab finishing is available at an extra charge but it will
void the one year warranty.
The Intimidator Quad IV X-
O/T four blade stainless steel propeller is the prop of choice on
tournament loaded bass boats, both single and twin engine and boats that
require bow lift, using the 2.4 and 2.5 liter O/B’s. Heat-treated, the X
O/T is 14 1/2 " in diameter and manufactured in every inch from 22"
through 30" pitch. Counter-rotation is offered in all the above sizes.
All propellers are furnished with the square bore design as standard.
Blueprinting/ lab finishing is available at an extra charge, and negates
the lifetime warranty of the owner.
